Karim Massimov participated in a breakfast with political and business leaders

on the sidelines of the Davos forum

January 22, 2016, Davos, Switzerland - Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Karim Massimov took part in the business breakfast organized on the occasion of the participation of the Kazakhstan delegation to the 46th World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives of large international business, banking and finance, high-ranking officials, took place at the initiative of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazkommertsbank Mr. Marc Holtzman.

Among the key guests were the Master Card CEO Ms. Ann Cairns, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Royal Dutch Shell Mr. Charles Holliday, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of one of the largest investment fund BlackRock Mr. Robert Capito, Chairman of the international company Nomura Asset Management Mr. Kunio Watanabe.

During the meeting, participants shared their opinion on the current economic situation in the region, the course of structural reforms in Kazakhstan, as well as the prospects of innovative technologies in the field of payment systems. Touching upon the issue of the future prospects of the development of the economy of Kazakhstan, representatives of foreign business gave their expert evaluation to the package of anti-crisis measures undertaken by the government to save the financial and social stability in our country.

It was also noted that one of the drivers for the growth of Kazakhstan's economy may be the development of modern digital and internet technologies, therefore, necessary structural changes not only in the industrial sectors, but especially in the education and training of young generation of Kazakhstan.

Speaking about the results of activities of Kazkommertsbank, Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Marc Holtzman emphasized the contribution of the bank into the financing of the real economy, aimed not only on the export of energy resources, but also on the production of high value added goods, support for high-tech industries and innovation.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) - a Swiss non-governmental organization, the mostly famous by organization of annual meetings in Davos. The meeting invites leading business executives, political leaders, well-known thinkers and journalists. The subject of discussion is the most pressing global issues, including health and environmental protection.
